This is a stunning swann neck Longcase with an arched dial, the case is copper beech that has been French polished with a non-coloured polish to allow the natural beauty of the wood to show through. The dial is copied from an original, and is unique to Small-Time. A truly stunning and well-proportioned clock to grace any room setting
This clock is typically French although the English did make a few examples it is more commonly associated with the French. It is from the more decorative period and can date from the mid 1700's. This example has been cast from Bronze and is then guilded. A fine example of this type of clock and was usually found in pairs, on either side of the room.
From a period when every day objects became a work of art this clock features a dial which is so typical; of the 1920's, the figure of the sitting nude is by miniature sculptor Neil Carter, she sits on a green simulated marble base which has four ebonized feet. This clock would look great in any stylish interior of the period, or modern room setting.
